Accounts Receivable Specialist - Fast-Paced Personal Injury Law Firm (Houston)

A well-established Plaintiff's law firm in Houston's Heights area seeks a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our winning team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts receivable for a high-volume personal injury practice.
  • Track outstanding balances and proactively collect payments from insurance companies and defense firms.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to minimize outstanding receivables.
  • Ensure accurate and complete processing of client settlements.
  • Review and identify opportunities to negotiate and reduce client medical bills.
  • Negotiate with medical providers and insurers to secure favorable settlements for medical expenses.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all settlement payments, medical bill negotiations, and related correspondence.
  • Provide support and assistance to other firm operations as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a similar role, preferably within a legal or medical setting. Proven negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies and healthcare providers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Quick Books Online a plus) for managing accounts receivable data.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of personal injury law or medical billing practices is a strong asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience.
