Entrusted Advisors is actively expanding our bench of Energy Counsel to support our global renewable energy, electricity and natural gas, and energy technology clients. This is an exciting opportunity for attorneys with broad experience in complex energy transactions to support sophisticated in‑house legal teams and drive critical business initiatives on a flexible secondment basis.
About the RoleAttorneys on our bench may be engaged to provide support for:
- Electricity, natural gas, capacity, and emissions trading across RTO/ISO markets including ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, and ISO‑NE
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including EEIs, NAESBs, ISDAs, PPAs, gas transportation, and environmental credit contracts
- Advising on compliance with FERC, CFTC, and public utility commission regulations
- Supporting structured energy deals, capacity auctions, and day‑ahead/real‑time market operations
- Coordinating with trading desks, origination teams, and regulatory stakeholders
- Supporting development and enforcement of internal trading policies and controls
- Collaborating with outside counsel on specialized regulatory or dispute matters
- 8+ years of experience advising on complex energy transactions, including significant experience as part of a corporate in‑house legal team
- In‑depth knowledge of RTO/ISO markets, power and gas trading, and commodity exchange frameworks (ICE, NYMEX, etc.)
- Strong familiarity with federal and state regulatory regimes impacting trading activity (FERC, CFTC, PUCs)
- Exceptional contract negotiation and drafting skills
- Ability to work independently, provide practical business‑aligned advice, and integrate seamlessly with client teams
- JD from an ABA‑accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
