Job #: 34978 Trial Paralegal needed for boutique practice

Responsibilities
  • Participate and facilitate in the organization and progress of case file including calendar deadlines, maintenance of file and participate in status meetings
  • Utilize litigation support systems specifically Relativity, iManage, File Site and Trial Director
  • Perform substantive research including analyze documents and materials and summarize for attorney review
  • Coordinate preparation and filing of briefs and legal documents including cite checking, compiling appendices and exhibits, and electronic filing in state and federal courts
  • Manage, coordinate and prepare for hearings and depositions including drafting witness outlines, deposition exhibits and interaction with experts and witnesses
  • Collaborate with e‑discovery project manager to facilitate document production process from collection through production across all formats
  • Interact with outside entities (clients, government agencies, expert witnesses, consultants, other law firms, opposing parties, court personnel, etc.)
  • Manage trial preparation, logistics and support consisting of compiling and tracking exhibits and testimony time, and assisting with all other attorney assignments
  • Travel to and participate in trial or arbitration is required
Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or Certified Paralegal required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years paralegal experience in litigation required
  • Experience preparing for and attending trials and arbitrations required
  • Strong coordination and teamwork skills
  • Planning and organization skills, including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and critical thinking ability
  • Experience filing documents with various courts both state and federal
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, and document management systems (iManage, File Site)
  • Proficiency in the use of e‑discovery and deposition transcript tools (Relativity, Trial Director)
  • Proficiency with legal research tools
  • Proficiency in time tracking software (Juris, Rippe LMS, Time Slips, DTE Axiom)
  • Technology/Software
