Job DescriptionTo work with Suppliers to schedule and expedite material for delivery at the right time to achieve the production schedule and the customer requirements. Actioning daily exception messages, maintaining system parameters and ensuring deliveries are received on time in full whilst maintaining the optimum levels of inventory.
Delivery activities- Pro-actively expedite against forward customer orderbook and take ownership for reactive expediting to customer and production shortages.
- Ensuring status of all purchase orders with suppliers are up to date and closed in a timely manner.
- Manage delivery quantity invoice queries and problem resolution.
- Support the Supply Chain Engineer (Supplier) with supplier development activities.
- Maintain and manage the master data within the ERP system ensuring all data is in line with the agreements made by the centre-led sourcing team.
- Escalate any communication from the Suppliers advising of a change to the contractual agreements.
- Weekly reporting on material availability, supplier delivery performance and premium freight.
- Monthly financial reporting on stock and accruals, slow and non-moving stock and material usage.
- Responsible for Supply Chain Metrics inclusive of Customer OTD, Factory Plan Attainment and shortages to plan, Goods in Transit and Raw Material Inventory, Slow and Non-Moving Stock, New Value accuracy and Absolutely quantity accuracy, Rio Rate.
- Responsible for external storage and premium freight costs.
- Experience in the use of ERP systems.
- Experience with and sound knowledge of the basics of inventory management.
- Good level of IT understanding, including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.
- Experience in inventory and material control within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
- Good attention to detail, with a methodical and logical analytical approach.
