Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to support purchasing operations for a Contract position based in Houston, Texas. This role focuses on sourcing materials, supplies, equipment, and services while building productive vendor relationships and securing favorable pricing and delivery terms. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing purchase orders, coordinating with internal teams on inventory planning, and ensuring products meet quality and timing expectations.

Responsibilities:

- Create and issue purchase orders for stock and operational needs in a timely manner

- Source materials, equipment, and services from vendors while balancing cost, quality, and availability

- Track open orders closely and follow up with suppliers to help keep deliveries on schedule

- Partner with customer service and related teams to anticipate inventory demand and support planning efforts

- Communicate regularly with vendors and manufacturers to confirm specifications, service levels, and delivery commitments

- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements to obtain the best overall value for the business

- Maintain accurate purchasing records and complete order entry with strong attention to detail

- Build and manage day-to-day supplier relationships to support consistent service and performance Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a closely related buying function

- A 4-year degree is preferred

- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business-related software applications

- Solid math skills and the ability to work accurately with pricing and order details

- Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders

- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in purchasing and documentation tasks
