: EXPANSION AND ENHANCEMENT PROJECT MANAGER

Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and closeout of light industrial buildings, commercial facilities, and compressor stations for a leading power generation operator. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in contractor selection, contracting strategy, and management of construction projects, including class 8 truck shop and engine repair facilities, interior build-outs, and pre-engineered metal buildings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of project delivery including design coordination, construction oversight, and project closeout for multiple sites across the United States.
  • Manage contractor prequalification and selection processes to ensure optimal project outcomes.
  • Develop and interpret Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, ensuring accurate project planning and progress tracking using MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Create comprehensive budget estimates and implement earned value management systems to monitor financial performance and project health.
  • Oversee construction activities related to basic geotechnical work, concrete and foundation installation, electrical service (ranging from 120V to 13.8kV), traditional plumbing, HVAC, and bulk fluid distribution systems.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with technical and operational requirements.
  • Review and approve project documentation, drawings, and specifications in collaboration with design teams and contractors.
  • Monitor project risks, implement mitigation measures, and maintain strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing regular reports on project status, schedule, and budget.

Other Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a proven record of delivering commercial, light industrial, or power-related facilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pre-engineered metal buildings, geotechnical principles, concrete and foundations, electrical systems (120V–13.8kV), plumbing, HVAC, and bulk fluid distribution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of contract principles, such as delays, liquidated damages, change orders, and termination.
  • Ability to prepare detailed budget estimates and implement earned value management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a focus on delivering results and fostering teamwork.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA 29

    CFR
    1926 regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Direct experience with MS Project and/or Primavera P6 project management software.
  • Experience managing projects for power generation operators or similar industrial sectors.
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Insurance policy knowledge.
