POSITION OVERVIEW
An EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Supervisor is responsible for the daily planning, implementation, and enforcement of safety programs within a facility and across multiple sites. The primary objective of this role is to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as those set forth by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). The EHS Supervisor acts as a key leader in fostering a strong safety culture and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPolicy and Program Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs, including but not limited to hazardous waste management, emergency response plans, and all the OSHA standards and procedures following regulation CFR 1910 for the general industry.
- Ensure that all TAS facilities are compliant with ISO Standards 14001 & 45001.
- Ensure all TAS’ facilities are compliant with proper HAZWASTE disposal following TCEQ procedures.
- Partner with departments across the organization to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Assist during the investigation process of environmental incidents, including spills, releases, and other hazardous events.
- Discuss the results of the monthly audits with each EHS Coordinator from each site and assist in the development of corrective actions.
- Assist in the development of EHS initiatives and opportunities for improvement to reduce and mitigate OSHA recordability.
- Ensure that all the sites are compliant with the reporting process on Intellect.
- Schedule and organize, in presence or tams calls; meetings as necessary to review accidents and near misses with all the sites.
- Ensure that the OSHA monthly metrics are accurate and posted in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ensure that monthly site inspections are completed to identify potential hazards and assist in providing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and maintain compliance with TAS safety standards.
- Monitor the equipment inspections such as Forklift, overhead cranes and aerial lifts and ensure these are conducted as indicated per TAS EHS Program.
- Assist and participate in the internal and external ISO Audits across all TAS facilities as needed.
- Lead and/or participate in the investigation of incidents and accidents, assist managers and supervisor from each site with the implementation of the root cause analysis process and schedule meetings with the teams submitting incident reports as needed, assist in developing the implementation of corrective actions and measure effectiveness.
- Schedule meetings as needed to ensure that corrective measures are being handled accordingly after the completion of any incident investigation.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, management, and contractors. Training topics include safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper equipment use.
- Facilitate hazard identification and risk assessment activities, such as Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and recommend and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Ensure all sites comply with relevant EHS regulations and standards. Maintain accurate records such as OSHA logs and prepare and submit required reports to management and regulatory agencies such as ISNetworld and AVETTA.
- Assist in the CSUSA monthly reporting process.
- Assist in responding official letters from federal agencies such as OSHA and TCEQ as needed.
- Provide leadership and guidance to site EHS coordinators. Collaborate closely with operational management, human resources, and other departments to promote and sustain a strong safety culture.
- Assist and participate in all the EHS monthly safety committee meetings across all TAS facilities.
- Ensure that all sites are following TAS’ EHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure that quarterly environmental audits are completed accordingly and assist with the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
