Job DescriptionRockwell Automation is looking for a Senior Director, Customer Sustainability, to join our global sustainability organization. In this role, you are responsible for developing, leading, and implementing our global customer sustainability strategy and initiative, and leading the team for executing Rockwell’s customer sustainability strategy. Reporting to the Vice President, Sustainability, you will manage meeting business development goals, internal and external responsibilities, and help communicate priorities with stakeholders.
You will help drive innovation across our internal operations and collaborate on our ESG commitments and ESG strategy for our customers. This will require internal business unit collaboration, influencing product strategy and roadmaps, thought leadership for us and growing Rockwell’s revenue in the sustainability market. You will have experience and ability to strategize and implement high‑level program initiatives. This role will be based in a Rockwell office in either Milwaukee, WI, Mayfield Heights, OH or Houston, TX on a hybrid office schedule.
Responsibilities
- Forward‑thinking and visionary leader, responsible for developing and leading our core and extended customer sustainability organization that builds and drives new sustainable revenue growth.
- Communicate and coordinate with management, shareholders, customers and employees to address sustainability issues, trends and disruptions in the technical business environment.
- Work together with the business unit to influence product strategy and roadmaps to develop new and existing sustainability offerings meeting customers’ growing needs.
- Monitor trends and evolving expectations and their impact on RA strategy and priorities. Assess markets and opportunities and build long‑term strategies to accelerate growth – including build, partner, buy analysis, joint value propositions and go‑to‑market plans.
- Collaborate with GSM to develop the appropriate go‑to‑market strategies and ensure plans, resources, and findings are secured to execute them.
- Lead active thought leadership in industry consortia and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

- Travel of 30%, including both domestic and international travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 years of work experience with people‑leadership experience.
- Advanced degree/MBA.
- Current or previous industrial automation sales experience and sales leadership experience.
- International work experience or leading a global team in sales, sustainability or a combination of both.
- Capability to work dynamically and collaboratively across multiple teams and projects in a technical business environment.
- An external network of sustainability peers in companies, government, academia and the non‑profit sector.
- Progressive leadership and decision‑making experience in a complex multi‑stakeholder working environment.
