** OVERVIEW Texas Southern University is seeking a Director of International Affairs and International Programs to lead and manage the university’s global engagement initiatives. The role oversees international partnerships, study abroad programs, and services that support international students and scholars. This position also provides strategic direction for international education initiatives and supervises compliance responsibilities connected to SEVIS and SEVP regulations. The Director serves as a key leader within the Office of International Affairs and supports institutional international efforts through collaboration, program oversight, and student support services.
The position includes responsibilities related to recruitment, admissions, exchange programs, and immigration documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead, develop, and manage global engagement initiatives – Provide strategic direction for international partnerships – Oversee study abroad programs and initiatives – Manage international student and scholar services – Supervise the Office of International Affairs – Support recruitment and admissions activities for international students – Ensure compliance with SEVIS guidelines and SEVP regulations – Oversee issuance of I-20 documents and F-1 visa processes – Serve as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) – Manage international partnerships and exchange programs – Support global education initiatives across the university – Provide support services for international students and scholars REQUIREMENTS – Experience leading international affairs or international programs – Knowledge of SEVIS guidelines and SEVP regulations – Ability to oversee international student and scholar services – Experience managing study abroad initiatives and exchange programs – Ability to manage international partnerships and global engagement initiatives – Knowledge of F-1 visa processes and I-20 issuance procedures – Ability to serve as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This position plays an important role in strengthening international engagement and expanding opportunities for students, scholars, and institutional partnerships.
