Description
:

Manages and administers business, financial and non-academic operations of a very complex college, including budget planning,oversight and monitoring; staff and faculty affairs; and facilities operations and maintenance oversight. Provides functional supervision of department business/office coordinators and servesas the liaison for dean, chairs, directors, faculty and staff withother university departments and offices.

1. Manages budgets, including managing and supervising annual budget preparations; monitoring and advising on department budgets and accounts; preparing budgetary and personnel reports, analyses and projections.

2. Provides training and development opportunities for faculty and/or staff and assures adherence to university policies and procedures.

3. Manages the salary administration function to ensure equity and fairness within the college.

4. Provides functional supervision for department business managers and office coordinators and exercises direct supervision of office staff.

5. May monitor and ensure building maintenance and safety.

6. Provides assistance to the Dean in the implementation of organization decisions, which may include writing policy statements; generating customized reports; and coordinating special events as needed.

7. Serves as resource to the Dean, associate deans, department chairs, etc. and provides liaison to university as well as to external units.

8. Serves on a variety of committees within the college, as well as university wide.

9. Administers the staff performance appraisal process for the college.

10. Supervises and controls purchasing of supplies and equipment,serving as the property custodian for the college.

11. Reviews and approves the reconciliation of accounting records with university reports/financial statements and prepares recurringfinancial /budget reports for internal purposes.

12. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: "Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a collegeor university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.

Additional Job Posting Information:

-Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or closely related field.
-Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in business administration, financial management, budgeting, human resources, procurement, contracts, and operational leadership.
-Experience in higher education, academic medicine, or healthcare administration
-Experience managing multiple funding sources, including state,designated, gift, endowment, and grant funds.
-Demonstrated ability to develop business processes and implement operational improvements.
