Job Summary:

The Cable Assembly Technician will assemble and build out cable for Data vans, etc.

• Assemble components per bill of materials requirements on a daily basis
• Perform functional testing on assemblies
• Test assemblies per customer and/or division criteria
• Operate test equipment in compliance with engineering standards
• Prep assemblies for shipment
• Read, follow, and interpret cable assembly instructions
• Collaborate with others as a team player
• Communicate regularly with cable supervisors on inventory or assembly problems
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
• Physically perform duties as needed by lifting and standing for extended periods
• Have knowledge of wiring color codes
• Read manufacturing drawings

• Ability to read cable prints
• Ability to see small details on prints
• Ability to solder wires to pins and connectors using standard techniques
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
• Ability to work with small items for the entirety of an 8-hour shift
• Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

• High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1 year of Assembly experience
• Ability to read cable prints
• Excellent soldering skills
• Excellent crimping skills
• Ability to use and knowledge of hand tools
• Ability to use and knowledge of power tools
• Able to read drawings/schematics
