Plant Manager – Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing
Position Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing operations in a mid‑sized electro‑mechanical facility producing oil and gas equipment. This role is a hands‑on operational leader and Lean champion who drives safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance through Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will build a culture of accountability, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement while developing leaders at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership- Lead all plant operations including production, assembly, test, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and facilities.
- Own plant performance metrics:
Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM). - Ensure production meets customer, regulatory, and business requirements for oil & gas equipment.
- Drive effective production planning, capacity management, and labor utilization.
- Serve as the site Lean leader, actively driving Lean principles across all functions.
- Lead and sustain Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement and maintain 5S / 6S standards, visual management, and standardized work.
- Drive waste elimination (defects, overproduction, waiting, motion, inventory, etc.).
- Establish problem‑solving discipline using root cause analysis (A3, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Develop a culture where improvement is owned by the floor, not delegated to CI staff.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, engineers, and functional leaders.
- Build a high‑engagement culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Foster teamwork between production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.
- Drive training and skills development for electro‑mechanical assembly and test operations.
- Promote Lean leadership behaviors at all levels.
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all EHS requirements.
- Champion proactive safety culture aligned with 6S principles.
- Ensure quality systems meet customer and industry standards (ISO, API, etc., as applicable).
- Drive defect reduction, first‑pass yield improvement, and corrective action effectiveness.
- Own plant P&L performance including labor, overhead, scrap, and inventory.
- Drive cost reduction through Lean initiatives and productivity improvements.
- Support capital planning, equipment investments, and facility improvements.
- Collaborate with corporate leadership on strategic objectives and growth plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 7–10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience leading electro‑mechanical assembly and test operations.
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S / 6S.
- Experience in oil & gas, industrial equipment, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to lead cultural change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lean certification (Lean Leader, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience in high‑mix, low‑to‑medium volume manufacturing environments.
