Machinist III
We are seeking an experienced Machinist III to join our team. The role involves precision turning, milling, grinding, and CNC programming to produce high‑quality aerospace components.
Responsibilities- Plan, layout, machine, and assemble parts to exacting tolerances and specifications.
- Set and operate a variety of machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines.
- Determine the sequence of machining operations and the number of cuts required for required finishes and tolerances.
- Make detailed layouts for parts with compound angles and complex mating features.
- Set up machines, select and mount cutting tools, adjust speeds, feeds, and depths of cut.
- Check machine setup and part run for conformance to blueprint specifications; grind tool bits and drills as needed.
- Work from detailed drawings, templates, sketches, and assembly blueprints.
- Provide technical direction to customers on pre‑fabrication reviews, modifications, or repairs.
- Perform typical machining operations such as chasing tapers, turning, boring, facing, slotting, and other operations on metal and plastic components.
- Program and operate CNC machines using at least one CNC programming language.
- Train less experienced machinists and perform general inspection of work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; organize and store inventory, materials, and safety equipment.
- Use lift equipment and perform related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum 12 years of machinist experience.
- Familiarity with at least one CNC programming language.
- Proficient with standard machining concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Operating experience with Mazak lathes and Mazatrol programming.
- Experience developing CNC/lathe programs with CAD/CAM tools such as CREO, Master Cam, or ProE.
- Knowledge of GD&T and proficiency with precision measuring tools.
- Experience with horizontal or vertical multi‑axis CNC machines and 5‑axis programming.
- Overhead crane experience and handling of NASA flight hardware.

The position requires occasional climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing. The work area is a large, climate‑controlled manufacturing facility with machining equipment and typical noise levels. Safety gear, including steel‑toed shoes and hearing protection, is mandatory.
