Sanmina Energy (Houston) provides product engineering with an emphasis on energy including very complex electro‑mechanical systems; assembly and test for full electro‑mechanical assemblies across multiple industries with capability to produce new and legacy high‑temperature printed circuit board assemblies; and precision machining across the full material spectrum.
Job PurposeWork includes assignment planning, layout, set‑up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computer‑controlled machine shop equipment. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include cutting and shaping metal to precision dimensions. May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances.
May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
- Decision making abilities in situations where problems are complex
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009
- Set up machinery without assistance, including planning setup, acquiring all tooling and gauges needed before starting set‑up, selecting correct tooling needed for the job, building fixtures if needed, clamping and positioning fixtures correctly, setting tooling offsets, proofreading programs, correctly completing the first part, deburring and inspecting the first part, and submitting the first part for First Article Inspection
- Make precise and accurate parts in single and production runs
- Keep a clean, organized and safe work area
- Maintain company equipment
- Ensures all programs, tooling and fixtures are properly saved when a job is completed
- Participate and initiate continuous improvement of processes
- Abide by all company and safety regulations
- Run multiple machines when required
- Use idle time productively
- 5 years’ experience in CNC Lathe Operations with Fanuc controls
- 3 years’ minimum experience in a job shop environment
