Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a Process Engineer in Houston, TX. This role offers the opportunity to become part of a growing team and contribute to manufacturing process development.
Position SummaryWork to develop manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Facilitate and lead continuous improvement events, and participate in the overall leadership of a continuous improvement program. Conduct product and process analysis and recommend improvements to quality, methods, and controls. Suggest and implement revisions to existing product lines or new products.
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities- Evaluate and improve processes in manufacturing systems.
- Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
- Champion continuous improvement (CI) process and relative metrics, including running/facilitating CI events.
- Develop studies to improve product quality.
- Prepare reports for quality systems and status meetings.
- Collect samples and analyze data to develop improved processing methods.
- Design and implement systems that optimize all phases of the production process.
- Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost‑effective and functional production process.
- Perform root cause analysis on non‑conforming product and propose/implement process improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Assist Quality in maintaining UL, ISO, QCS, etc. certifications.
- Support sales staff with technical information.
- Additional duties as assigned by the manager.
- Bachelor's in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must be self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
- Proven detail attentiveness, organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent math and measuring skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
