** Overview & Responsibilities**##

* Position Summary:

** The Shop Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations for employees and resources within assigned areas. Acting as a bridge between Operations Management and the shop floor, the Supervisor ensures production goals are met efficiently while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. This role provides direct leadership, performance management, and technical support to the mechanic and rotor repair departments.##

* Core Responsibilities:

**** Operational Leadership:
*** Direct Operations:
Lead departmental mechanic and rotor repair activities, including the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of turbo machinery.
* Production Planning:
Coordinate with Operations Management and Production Control to execute schedules and meet delivery deadlines.
* Efficiency & Improvement:
Implement methods to monitor and control efficiency levels; drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows.
* Facility Management:
Participate in shop layout changes and oversee a comprehensive housekeeping (5S) program.
** Quality & Safety Compliance:
*** Cost Control:
Establish monitoring procedures to reduce scrap and rework costs.
* Root Cause Analysis:
Utilize the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) system to
* eliminate quality issues based on data and employee feedback.
* EHS Advocacy:
Enforce compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and plant rules to foster a safety-first culture.
* Technical Support:
Collaborate with Project Management to resolve manufacturing, quality, or design challenges.
** People & Performance Management:
*** Team Development:
Hire, coach, and train a skilled workforce, creating
* motivational procedures to help subordinates reach their full potential.
* Labor Relations:
Administer the Labor Contract and company policies; resolve
* labor disputes fairly to maintain a positive union-management relationship.
* Performance Oversight:
Manage employee performance, discipline, and
* accountability in coordination with HR and senior management.##
** Candidate Requirements:
**
* Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree/certification preferred.

* Experience:

Minimum of eight (8) years in a turbo machinery repair
* environment.
* Leadership:
Proven track record in a supervisory or leadership role within a mechanical or industrial setting.
** Technical

Skills:

*** Mechanical Aptitude:
Thorough understanding of rotating equipment, disassembly/reassembly, and repair processes.
* Blueprint Literacy:
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, product transmittals, and operational manuals.
* Specialized Knowledge:
Working knowledge of rotor balance theory and procedures.
* Systems:
Proficiency with standard office software; experience with legacy manufacturing systems is a plus.
** Soft Skills & Physical Demands:
*** Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written)
* A customer service mentality regarding internal and external stakeholders.
* Flexibility:
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as production needs dictate.
* Prior military experience or field service experience is highly valued but not required.
