Manual Machinist is responsible for manually operating machines and producing complex production and prototype parts to high tolerance design specifications in an accurate, cost effective and timely manner.

• Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism.
• Able to operate Lathes, cylindrical grinders and HBM from part set up to job completion.
• Capacity to learn thread rolling.
• Capable of reading and understanding outside and inside micrometers, vernier calipers, vernier height and depth gauges.
• Studies blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances as well as the best method and sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.
• Selects appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used for machining work.
• Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Aligns secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials onto machines.
• Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Fabricates and manufactures various parts using drawings or sample parts.
• Measures, examines and tests completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Ensures all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety with regards to tight machining tolerances.
• Other duties as assigned including mechanic work on various Reciprocating Compressor Components.

• Knowledge of Reciprocating Compressor Components: IE packing cases, valves, and piston and rods.
• Able to troubleshoot Reciprocating Compressor associated with packing cases, valves, piston and rods.
• Strong analytical and communication skills a must.
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritize daily tasks.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

A minimum of 5–7 years of machining experience.

• Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Regular on‑time physical attendance is required.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time and throughout the day in a machine shop environment.
• Duties require verbal communication abilities, visual acuity, accuracy in reading data, and manual coordination and dexterity in handling items and operation of equipment.
