Pallet Inspector

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.

Pay – $16.00 per hour.
Schedule – Second Shift Monday – Friday 4:00 pm – 12:30 am. (Weekly pay)

• Inspect pallets safely and securely at required rates.
• Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to the rolling line and use the palamatic machine for inspection and separation.
• Ensure proper inspection and separation meets quality standards.
• Conduct physical inventories as required.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
• Conduct operations promoting safety and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
• Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years in carpentry or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to comprehend basic math.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a diverse environment.
• Highly thorough and dependable.
• Punctual with a good attendance record.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision.

• Lift/push/pull up to 50 lb.
• Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder and crouch frequently.
• Use hands and feet simultaneously; perform repetitive movements.
• Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting.
• Stand and walk extended periods (at least 2 hrs straight, four times in an 8‑hr day).

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer.
