Head of Manufacturing Operations

Our client, a global manufacturer of nutraceuticals, is seeking a Head of Operations who will be responsible for the operational performance of the manufacturing plant, ensuring safe, efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective production of high‑quality products. Housed in the manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, this role manages leaders of production, warehouse, quality execution, and continuous improvement, while ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Develop and execute operational strategies to meet business goals while overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring optimal performance across production processes.
• Lead strategic growth and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Own the operations budget, cost control and margin improvement initiatives.
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing resources.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards such as GMP, HACCP, FDA, MSC, SQF.
• Collaborate with the QA/QC teams to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Partner with Planning & Logistics team to manage warehousing, distribution, and dispatch functions efficiently.
• Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead, mentor and develop cross‑functional operational teams while building a high‑performance culture focusing on accountability, communication and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Operations Management or related field required;
  Master’s degree in related field is preferred.
• 10+ years in food, nutraceuticals or pharmaceuticals manufacturing operations.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food industry regulatory standards.
• Proven experience in managing large teams and complex production systems.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar methodologies is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making skills with ability to act effectively to resolve problems.
