Location: Northeast Houston
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Openwork is partnering with a respected manufacturing company specializing in premium steel and aluminum bar grating. This employer is looking for skilled Structural Fitters who take pride in their work and want to help build high-quality structural products that meet rigorous standards.

Position Overview
Structural Fitters are responsible for laying out, fitting, and assembling metal components with accuracy and care. This role requires a strong focus on detail, blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to safety and craftsmanship.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM.
• Occasional Saturdays to meet business needs.

Overtime available based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare steel parts for fabrication.
• Fit and tack weld materials according to specifications.
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes to move materials.
• Assemble grating panels, stair treads, frames, and related products.
• Inspect assemblies to confirm dimensional accuracy within 1/8" tolerance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with welders, supervisors, and other team members.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience as a structural fitter, fabricator, or similar role in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols confidently.
• Skilled in using hand tools, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring devices.
• Forklift and crane experience preferred.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• High attention to detail and dedication to producing quality work.
