Shift Start Time: 4:30 pm

General Description:

The Production Operator position is responsible for an assortment of duties for both production and packaging operations.

Main Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Coordinate with Cell Lead on all aspects of packaging requirements from work order.
  • Monitor and report any shortage of packaging supplies
  • Coordinate with the Shipping Team on where to stage finished material.
  • Unload and tag material after checking the width, using a measuring tape.
  • Perform the packaging of all material to the correct specification.
  • Monitor and learn all customer requirements and types of materials.
  • Facilitate the flow of paperwork from slitter operations to inventory control for timely data entry
  • Respond to all requests and reporting requirements in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
  • Understand, clearly articulate, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Take immediate action to correct all non-conformance and/ or damage issues.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly facility always.
  • Immediately, report all safety violations or unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Identify process deficiencies and report to management.
  • Attend and/or lead all required training and safety sessions.
  • Assist in other areas of the operation when required.
  • Learn customer requirements for packaging specifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis and handle materials safely as part of daily job duties.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain safe body positioning while performing tasks and moving through the work area, including walking on concrete floors and uneven surfaces.
  • Frequent squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, requiring full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength to perform work safely.
  • Manual agility to operate tools safely and effectively, with regular use of arms, shoulders, and back for lifting, reaching, and positioning tasks.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Maintain adequate visual and auditory acuity to safely perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to: identifying potential hazards, reading and/or recording measurements, inspecting materials, and responding promptly to verbal instructions, alarms or hand signals in the work environment

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Pre-hire drug screening: candidates must pass a drug screen to be eligible for hire.
  • Physical assessment: required for all Production and Distribution positions, conducted by a company-designated physician at no cost to the candidate.
