Coatings Lab Technician in Northeast Houston TX

Kelly Science and Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Lab Technician position at a coatings manufacturing facility in Northeast Houston. The overall responsibility of the position is to perform analyses of acrylic and silicone based products for quality control purposes.

• Perform QC analysis of raw materials and production batches following SOPs
• Perform pH, density, viscosity, color matching, fish eye, mil thickness, etc.
• Maintain consistent and accurate documentation of each production batch upon release
• Perform mixing of small custom batches
• Assist Lab Manager with R&D of new and existing products
• Maintain R&D material inventories
• Maintain housekeeping of assigned areas

• BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field of science is preferred
• Basic understanding of Chemistry or Biology lab techniques is required
• Ability to learn and become proficient performing required QC analyses
• Computer skills with Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Ability to work some overtime as needed for business purposes
• Attention to detail is required to be successful in this role
• Attendance and punctuality are a must
• Team player
