Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role at Valley Precision Works is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. The CNC Machinist sets up, programs, and operates CNC machines to produce parts to specification, following technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Daily responsibilities include selecting appropriate tooling, loading materials, monitoring machine performance, and adjusting machine settings to ensure accurate machining.
The role also involves inspecting finished parts, documenting measurements, and collaborating with quality control and production teams to resolve issues, maintain safety standards, and meet production schedules.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate CNC equipment with strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery handling.
- Proficiency in Machining and Milling, including reading blueprints and working with precision measuring tools.
- Experience with Quality Control practices, including dimensional inspection and tolerance verification.
- Knowledge of basic shop math and mechanical principles, with attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required, and work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes and technologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining is beneficial.
