We are looking for a skilled Machinist to join our Houston-area team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working in a team environment, and wants to be part of a industry leader, dependable manufacturing environment.
You’ll work on a wide variety of machining projects, taking parts from raw material through the finished product while working from drawings, blueprints, sketches, samples, and verbal instructions.
What You'll Do- Work in an air conditioned service center environment
- Set up and operate manual mills, manual lathes, and horizontal boring mills
- Machine a wide variety of parts accurately and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications
- Lay out work and determine appropriate setup methods, tooling, and order of operations
- Take jobs from raw material through finished product
- Inspect and measure parts to ensure quality and accuracy
- Sharpen, rework, reset, and repair cutting tools as needed
- Assist with complex machine setups and machining processes
- Perform minor machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition
- Maintain accurate production records and job history
- Assist with marking, packing, stacking, and moving finished products
- Work at different stations as production needs require
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety and environmental procedures
- Operate manual and automated cleaning equipment
- Work independently while knowing when to ask questions or seek assistance
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of machining experience
- Strong experience setting up and operating manual mills and lathes
- Extensive horizontal boring mill experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of machining processes, machine capabilities, and manufacturing materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn company-specific machining and safety procedures
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision and solving machining problems independently
- Reciprocating compressor experience is a plus, but not required

Physical RequirementsThis is a hands-on manufacturing position. You should be comfortable:
- Standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and sitting for extended periods
- Reaching overhead and working in various positions
- Handling tools, materials, and equipment
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling materials
- Frequently lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
- Wearing required PPE and following all safety procedures
