Job Description & How to Apply Below
15 Hours / Week -> $15-20 / hr. Based on Experience
About the RoleWe're looking for a Social Media Coordinator to run the X (Twitter) presence for our Protection United football clients. You'll live in the timeline: covering games in real time, jumping on breaking news, and turning sports moments into posts people share. If you know the difference between a post that gets likes and one that gets quote-tweeted by 10,000 people, we want to talk.
WhatYou'll Do
- Post, reply, and engage on X daily, including live game and event coverage
- Write creative copy in a voice that fits the brand and the culture of the sport
- Monitor breaking news, trends, and conversations, and know when to jump in and when to stay out
- Manage a content calendar around the sports schedule for individual clients
- Track performance (impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, link clicks) and report on what's working
- Flag and elevate anything risky before it goes live: rumors, injury news, athlete or league sensitivities
- Coordinate with athletes, talent, or their reps on approvals and content needs when applicable
- 1+ years of experience managing social accounts, ideally in sports or entertainment (internships and personal projects with real results qualify)
- Deep knowledge of X: formats, algorithm behavior, quote-post and reply culture, Spaces, and video
- Strong writing. Tight, funny when it's called for, and always accurate
- Comfort working nights, weekends, and holidays when games are on
- Solid judgment under pressure. You can post fast without posting sloppy
- Basic video editing (Cap Cut, Premiere, or similar) and graphic design (Canva, Photoshop)
- Familiarity with football / NIL / college athletics
- Understanding of NIL rules, FTC disclosure requirements, and league/team social media policies
- Existing following or track record of engaging sports content
- Flexible/remote schedule, with game-day availability expected
- Access to events, athletes, or press credentials, if applicable
- Room to grow into a larger role
