The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining strategic partnerships that amplify Workforce Solutions' visibility, presence, and impact across the 13-county Gulf Coast region. This role convenes stakeholders, coordinates outreach initiatives, and ensures alignment with the Gulf Coast Workforce Board’s mission to increase access to services, mobilize community resources, and foster regional collaboration.
This position plays a critical role in engaging underserved populations, expanding community-based service delivery, and sharing success stories that reflect transformational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Research and assess community needs, demographics, and service gaps across the region.
- Develop a bi-annual Community Engagement Plan in collaboration with the Board; submit each September and February.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, employers, faith-based groups, and other key stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate community events, outreach activities, job fairs, partner meetings, and workforce development workshops.
- Represent Workforce Solutions at local meetings, coalitions, and forums; develop and deliver presentations aligned with branding standards.
- Handle engagement requests from community partners; coordinate timely follow-ups and provide status updates until resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of community engagement activities.
- Submit reports within two business days of activity and monthly summaries as required.
- Analyze engagement data and community feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
- Participate in Community Engagement Network Meetings as a mandatory representative.
- Ensure timely completion of partner agreements using approved templates and guidelines.
- Uphold Workforce Solutions’ branding and communications protocols in all public-facing content and presentations.
