Houston Chinese Church (hcchome.org) is an urban Chinese heritage church in central Houston established in 1975. In our one church family, you will find three culturally-distinct, language-specific congregations (English, Mandarin, & Cantonese) filled with multiple generations of worshippers, young and old.

The Missions Pastor provides vision, leadership, and oversight for the global missions ministry of Houston Chinese Church. Working alongside the elders, pastors, and the Global Missions Committee, he develops and implements the church's missions strategy, mobilizes members for global mission, strengthens missionary partnerships, equips future missionaries, and oversees the policies and resources that support HCC's participation in the Great Commission.

• Relationship:
  Reports to one of the congregational lead pastors. Works closely with ministry staff, Global Missions Committee, and supported missionaries.
• Education:
  
  Master of Divinity or higher from an accredited seminary.
• Experience:
  
  Three or more years of continuous overseas missions experience strongly preferred. Two or more years of pastoral ministry experience in North America preferred.
• Language:
  Proficiency in English required. Bilingual English and Chinese strongly preferred.
• Convictions:

• Provide Vision and Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate HCC’s global missions strategy.
  • Provide leadership for the church’s global missions ministry in collaboration with the ministry staff and Global Missions Committee.
• Mobilize the Church for Missions
  • Promote missions through teaching, prayer initiatives, conferences, and church resource center.
  • Encourage participation in global missions across all congregations.
  • Oversee annual short-term missions trips and develop future team leaders.
• Equip Future Missionaries
  • Identify, assess, and mentor members pursuing cross-cultural ministry.
  • Develop pathways for short-term, mid-term, and long-term missionary service.
  • Coordinate training and provide pastoral care for prospective missionaries.
• Shepherd Supported Missionaries
  • Cultivate relationships with supported missionaries through regular communication and prayer.
  • Coordinate missionary visits and member care teams.
  • Advocate for the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of missionaries and their families.
• Strengthen Missions Partnerships
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the ministry staff, Global Missions Committee, missionaries, and ministry partners.
  • Evaluate existing partnerships and recommend new ministry partnerships that align with HCC’s missions philosophy.
• Provide Administrative Oversight
  • Review and update the Missions Policy as needed.
  • Prepare and administer the annual missions budget with the Global Missions Deacon.
  • Maintain records, reports, and communication related to the church’s missions ministry.
• Shepherd Church Members
  • Serve as a member of the ministry staff, contributing to the church’s overall ministry.
  • Preach and teach as requested by the supervising pastor.
  • Perform other pastoral responsibilities as assigned.
