CURRENTLY ONLY NIGHT SHIFT AVAILIABLE 7:30PM-8AM We are looking for RN's with experience in med-surge and rehab to work in nursing home settings
Job DescriptionLong-Term Care (LTC) Registered Nurses (RNs) at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) provide compassionate, comprehensive nursing care to veterans with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or those in need of end-of-life care. These RNs typically work in Community Living Centers (CLCs), which function like skilled nursing or nursing home units within the VA system.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, wound care, and monitoring of vital signs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
- Monitor changes in residents’ physical and mental health and promptly report concerns to the medical team.
- Provide emotional support to veterans and their families, particularly in palliative and hospice care settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with VA policies and electronic health record standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Unlike ICU where it’s self-scheduling, the CLC will create the schedule for the LTC RNs 30 days in advance
- 12-hour shifts
- 3x Days
- 3x Nights
- Rotating Weekends and Holidays
- 36 hours per week
- Must have BSN
- Must have at least one year of recent experience in LTC/SNF
- AHA BLS, VA will not accept non-AHA certifications.
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in state of employment
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and client care skills
- Valid driver’s license
- First aid/CPR certification required
