Overview
Texas Oncology is hiring a Float Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Astorial Blvd. location in Houston, Texas. The role involves floating from the home site as needed, up to 10% of the time, and can be Level I, II, or Senior depending on experience.

What the Role DoesUnder general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with national and company standards. The RN recognizes physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in quality initiatives while supporting the U.S. Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care following established standards and practices.
- Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
- Ensure pre‑authorization and consent forms are obtained before therapy administration where applicable.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient labs, consulting protocol, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage changes and symptom management.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Education/Training
Level I:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred), RN state license, BLS certification, ongoing continuing education, 0–3 years nursing experience, oncology experience highly preferred.
Level II:
Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience highly preferred.
Level Senior:
Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, at least one year in oncology, oncology certification preferred.
Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other common oncology/hematology clinic conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
Physical RequirementsFull range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs, corrected vision and hearing required.
