Job Responsibilities
- Assess patients preoperatively, verifying surgical plans and ensuring patient safety.
- Prepare the operating room with necessary surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in positioning and prepping patients on the OR table following strict aseptic protocols.
- Actively circulate and/or scrub during procedures, ensuring smooth surgical workflows.
- Monitor patient vital signs and surgical site conditions, communicating any concerns promptly to the surgical team.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection prevention practices.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent operating room (OR) nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience, is highly preferred.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment handling, and sterile field management.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Adaptability and desire to thrive in a dynamic environment across a variety of healthcare facilities.
