Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse Circulator to join our team at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center – Southwest. This role is essential to ensuring safe and efficient surgical care. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced OR setting.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are available and functioning.
- Assess patients before surgery, verify consents, and address any immediate concerns.
- Serve as a circulating nurse during procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and patient safety protocols.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively and respond promptly to changes.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Follow AORN standards and facility policies consistently.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement and performance initiatives.
- Maintain current certifications and complete annual competencies.

Required Skills- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Thorough understanding of operating room procedures and sterile techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a high‑stress, fast‑paced surgical environment.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Texas RN license (or compact license).
- Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required; 3 years preferred.
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred.
- CNOR certification a plus.
