About the Role:The Unit Manager - RN at Park Manor Westchase plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of a healthcare unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position requires managing nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The Unit Manager is responsible for fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that promotes professional development and staff engagement.
They serve as a key liaison between patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction. Ultimately, this role ensures that the unit operates efficiently while upholding the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient care standards, and nursing best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Certification in Nursing Leadership or Management (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
- Experience working in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare management software.
- Strong background in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Supervise and lead nursing staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Coordinate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and quality standards.
- Manage unit resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, and supplies to maintain operational efficiency.
- Address patient and family concerns promptly and compassionately to enhance the patient experience.
The Unit Manager utilizes clinical expertise and leadership skills daily to guide nursing staff in delivering patient-centered care. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and addressing patient and family needs. Organizational and problem-solving abilities enable the manager to optimize staffing, resources, and workflows to maintain unit efficiency. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality standards ensures compliance and promotes continuous improvement.
Additionally, proficiency with healthcare technology supports accurate documentation and data-driven decision-making.
