About the Role

Part‑time Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse at TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital.

We provide advanced technology that enables surgeons to perform a wide range of procedures across multiple specialties, including Bariatric Surgery, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Management, Podiatry, Spine, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, and Ophthalmology.

• Provide comprehensive patient care to individuals emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for both patients and families in preparation for discharge.
• Assist physicians with tasks in procedure rooms, including conscious sedation and use of sterile techniques as appropriate.

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
• BLS and ACLS required (PALS if required by the center).
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.

• Critical thinking and rapid decision‑making in a PACU setting.
• Proficiency in patient monitoring and post‑anesthesia care.
• Skilled in IV therapy, airway management, and emergency response.
• Strong interpersonal and patient education skills.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques.

• Minimum 2 years in PACU, Critical Care, or related specialty preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and charting.
