The registered nurse is responsible for coordinating the nursing care of assigned patients in the ICU in order to provide quality patient care to patients in the unit. The RN applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development. The RN provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

• Provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, and colleagues.
• Prioritizes activities and manages time effectively to meet service demands.
• Assesses patient condition and applies the nursing process to develop, implement, evaluate, and document care.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and others to fulfill position responsibilities.
• Coordinates services and collaborates with case management, pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology as needed.
• Maintains documentation, follows policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with nursing care standards.
• Provides patient and family education and training based on assessed needs.
• Operates all applicable equipment accurately and reports malfunctioning equipment appropriately.
• Participates in hospital and departmental meetings to contribute to quality improvement and patient safety.
• Protects confidentiality of patients and coworkers, respecting dignity, privacy, and differences.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s of Science in nursing preferred.
• One (1) or more recent years of clinical experience as an RN required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse required.
