Job Title: Heart Failure ICU Nurse Practitioner – FT Nights
Location: Houston, TX – Texas Medical Center
Work Arrangement: On-site, in-person, 12-hour shifts (paid for 40 hours) rotating weekends & holidays, no call
Salary Range: $135,200 – $147,680 (USD)
Differential: 8% geographical differential for Texas Medical Center
Credentialing: 2–3 months.
Training: Full device training provided.
Memorial Hermann is a Level 1 Trauma Center, the #2 Rehabilitation Hospital, and partners with the Houston Rockets. This role is based at the Texas Medical Center and is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care for critically ill heart patients, including those on VV/VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Heart & Lung Transplants, LVAD, and post‑op cardiac surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in alignment with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Memorial Hermann Standards of Care.
- Manage critically ill cardiac patients, including advanced devices and transplant populations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and continuity of care.
- Participate in the Professional Nurse Advancement Program.
- Maintain reliable attendance and contribute to a culture of excellence and compassion.
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) required.
- Board certification (ANCC, AANP, or AACN Acute Care NP) required.
- BLS & ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum 2 years of RN or NP experience in Critical Care/ICU.
- Cardiology or cardiac care experience preferred.
- New NPs must have 2+ years of ICU RN experience.
- Experience with heart failure population.
- Cardiovascular & Heart Failure ICU RN background.
- Prior Acute Care NP experience.
