About Us:

Protouch Staffing is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) to join our school health team for the 2025 school year. This role will involve providing direct care to students, ensuring their health and safety throughout the school day, and supporting the district's health program.

Purpose:

The RN will implement the school health program under the supervision of supervising DON RN. Key duties include managing student health needs, administering medications, tube feeding, trach care, vent students, seizure precautions, maintaining health records, and collaborating with school staff to promote student well-being.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Valid Texas RN license or compact for at least 2yrs.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing
  • AED/CPR certification - American Heart Association only
  • The ability to implement emergency care including the ability to independently respond to an emergency, perform CPR, administer emergency medications, and other lifesaving measures within standard practice guidelines.
  • Finger printing for the district (one time requirement, previous will count)
  • Complete immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, Flu)
  • Current TB Skin Test or Chest x-ray
Preferred:
  • 2+ years of experience in community health or pediatric nursing
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide first aid and basic care to students
  • Provide clinic, classroom or direct 1:1 care to a student with complex medical needs, including trach, vent, and G-tube management.
  • Monitor the student's vital signs and respond to any medical needs promptly.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Maintain accurate health records (medications, treatments, screenings, etc.)
  • Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) as required by state law
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and the RN Program Leader on student health needs
  • Educate staff on health-related issues and guide unlicensed personnel as needed
  • Assist with IEP/ARD meetings and crisis interventions
  • Ensure compliance with state health laws and Medicaid billing (SHARS)

  • Ability to remain calm under stress and manage urgent situations
