Overview
A nationally recognized women’s and children’s hospital in Houston is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – NICU to support operations within a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
. This role partners closely with the NICU Director to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting staff development, performance improvement initiatives, and operational excellence.
This opportunity is ideal for a NICU Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager with recent leadership experience who thrives in a high-acuity, fast-paced neonatal environment.
Responsibilities- Support the Director in daily operations of the NICU in alignment with organizational goals and standards
- Assist with staffing coordination, workflow management, and unit operations
- Ensure nursing care delivery follows evidence-based practice and the nursing process
- Provide clinical leadership and hands-on support to NICU nursing staff
- Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives
- Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within women’s and neonatal services
- Promote a collaborative, supportive, and safety-focused culture
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active RN license (Texas or multistate compact; Texas license required within 60 days if compact)
- Minimum 2 years of recent (within the last year) NICU leadership experience (Manager or Charge Nurse)
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
Preferred:
- Prior experience in Level III or Level IV NICU environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through growth and change
- Level IV NICU providing the highest level of neonatal care
- High-volume unit supporting complex neonatal and multiple-birth cases
- Leadership role supporting a growing and expanding NICU program
