Registered Nurse Med​/Surg

Location: Houston, TX

Employment Type: Contract (12 month contracts,with possible extension)

Shift: Days 36 hours weekly

Pay: $61.45

Asa Healthcare Staffing is a veteran-owned, nurse-led healthcare staffing company headquartered in Houston. We're looking for an experienced Medical/Surgical RN for a contract assignment at a Houston-area acute care hospital.

You'll provide direct care to adult med/surg patients, working alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

• Assess, plan, carry out, and evaluate care for an assigned group of med/surg patients
• Give medications and treatments, and monitor how patients respond
• Manage pre- and post-operative patients, including wound care, pain management, and drains
• Recognize when a patient's condition is changing and escape quickly
• Teach patients and families, and coordinate discharge
• Document accurately and on time in the EHR
• Follow hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols

• Active Texas RN license or multistate compact license
• At least 2 years of recent acute inpatient Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS/ ACLSfrom the American Heart Association
• Able to pass a 5-panel drug screen and a 7-year criminal background check
