Patient Care Attendant​/Technician Assistant

VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Attendant to join our busy 7‑doctor practice.

The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clientele and the highest quality care to hospitalized patients.

• Assisting doctors and technicians.
• Monitoring and caring for pets in the treatment area. Demonstrate knowledge and effective execution of compassionate patient care, handling and medical responsibilities as appropriate for maintaining health and comfort of our hospitalized, sick and well patients.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Prepare surgical packs.
• Assist with technician appointments.
• Communicate effectively with clients and other associates.
• Clean cages.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized environment for staff and clients.
• Assist with inventory and stocking.
• Follow standard hospital procedures, including the ability to read, understand and follow proper healthcare documentation guidelines for basic medical records.

Experience in the animal healthcare industry preferred.

Ability to sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate up to 40 pounds.
