WEEKEND - Grounds Keeper

Traders Village Houston is seeking a Grounds Keeper to support weekday operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the daily cleanliness of the flea market by collecting trash, transporting debris, and assisting with general grounds upkeep.

This is a Monday–Friday position, approximately 39 hours per week, working 8-hour shifts per day. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.

Traders Village is the largest flea market on the Gulf Coast, located at 7979 N. Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041.

• Perform daily grounds cleanup throughout the flea market property.
• Collect and manage trash from vendor areas, walkways, food stands, and common areas.
• Empty trash cans and transport full trash bags, cardboard, and debris to dumpsters or compactors.
• Operate equipment such as tractors, golf carts, and forklifts (when trained and assigned).
• Walk assigned sections of the market to ensure cleanliness is maintained throughout the day.
• Assist with additional cleanup tasks as needed, including sweeping debris or squeegeeing water.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable appearance of the property.
• Work independently while coordinating with the Maintenance Director, maintenance staff, and groundskeepers to maintain daily cleanliness of the market.

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, custodial, warehouse, or equipment operation is a plus.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness and safety.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus but not required.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 40–50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate assigned equipment.
