The small, experienced team brings backgrounds in veterinary clinics, dog rescue volunteering, dog grooming, and animal advocacy through service on the board of Citizens for Animal Protection. The Pet Care Professional is a part-tme, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This position focuses on hands-on care for dogs and other companion animals, including feeding, walking, monitoring health and behavior, maintaining clean and safe environments. The role involves carefully following care instructions from pet guardians, observing and reporting changes in animal behavior or wellbeing, and ensuring a calm, low-stress experience for every pet.

This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare and excellent client service.

• Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including safe handling, feeding, exercise, and basic wellbeing monitoring.
• Knowledge of Animal Behavior and comfort working with different temperaments, sizes, and species.
• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with pet guardians and team members.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain clean and organized work areas, and manage time efficiently in a busy environment.
• Prior experience in pet care, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, grooming, or related setting is preferred.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and handle active animals safely throughout the workday.
• Reliable transportation to the Houston, TX location and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak periods as needed.
