The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in establishing, implementing, and continually improving the performance of the Quality Management System.
Primary Responsibilities- Interface with Sales, Materials, Engineering, Production and Customers to ensure applicable requirements and customer expectations are being fully understood and satisfied.
- Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of our customers and the Quality Management System.
- Resolve and prevent the reoccurrence of various quality issues relative to product, process, customer complaints, and quality system requirements.
- Develop and maintain project quality documentation such as supplements, records, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Manufacturing Procedure Specifications (MPS), etc.
- Support the processes of planning, organizing, and managing all project quality related activities including release of clear instructions to production and QC personnel.
- Analyzing the need for and managing correction actions for process related concerns, negative trends in business metrics, and product nonconformances using appropriate analytical tools.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures within the Quality Management System.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Quality, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
- 5-10 years related experience in manufacturing or similar field where the reading and interpretation of technical requirements was a routine task of the position.
- Experience working under an ISO-9001 certified QMS or similar Standard is required.
- Experience in supplying materials to the nuclear industry is a plus.
