This position will provide inspection support in the areas of incoming quality control, internal first articles and in-process inspections in various production areas.

  • Inspect machined/molded parts to assure conformance to engineering drawings and/or other documentation.
  • Document inspection results using manual and computer-based systems.
  • Generate Material Non-Conformance reports for items not meeting specifications.
  • Interface with personnel within the quality department regarding work assignments and priorities.
  • Must be able to express problems discovered and how they were resolved in verbal and written English language as quality documentation is bound and forward to customers at the time they take possession of the equipment.
  • Ethical resolve to always perform testing accurately and to record the results accurately.

Working Conditions & Safety Concerns

  • Works in well-lighted air-conditioned factory environment.
  • Will be required to wear safety glasses and steel toed shoes.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours) and to be ready to perform WIP testing when the fabrication crew signals readiness.
  • May be required to work odd hours at times to meet operational needs of the department or product line assigned.
Qualifications
  • Visual Inspection Skills under microscope or inspection tools to verify that a product is free of defects before installation in the next level of assembly or final distribution to the customer.
  • Hands-on experience with common inspection tools such as:
  • Micrometers, calipers, Multimeter.
  • Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in use of and/or programming of automated inspection tools, such as vision inspection systems.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.

Education/Training (Required)

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
