Demonstrates knowledge of operational processes. Performs required work safely and uniformly within operation guidelines & standards but does not necessarily have proven proficiency in specific skillset within department.
Core AccountabilitiesGage Lab Inspector
- Prepare gages / gauges for order inspection setup and secure the gage area by use of and adherence to proper storage and control measures.
- Stand in and assist quality operations by ensuring all post-production materials are inspected as instructed, tested and documented according to standard quality procedures.
- Set up and standardize magnetic particle equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate test for acceptance or rejection and document test results.
- Remain familiar with codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method utilized. Demonstrate ability to understand and work within parameters.
- Ensure all post-production materials are inspected, tested, and documented according to standard quality procedures.
- Oversee any pre-production quality inspection concerns and determine the best course of action while under supervision.
- Performs role of Inspectors as needed.
- Additionally directs the work of other Inspectors to perform responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
- Directly supervises / manages Inspectors and Leads and ensures their productivity and accuracy meets expectations.
- As needed, can and does perform the role of these positions.

Experience
Required:
Experience in an industrial environment using related tools and equipment. Six (6)+ months of training & close supervision in position.
For foreman: Six (6)+ months of experience in supervisory role.
Education/Experience (REQUIRED):High School diploma or GED equivalent strongly preferred;
Certification a plus.
- Ability to work overtime in order to meet the needs of the operation.
- Acute visual ability to observe product nonconformance. Visual ability consisting of strong close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Perform intense manual labor with long work hours. Ability to stand for a long period of time; bend, stoop, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move around work area.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with arms.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs occasionally, and 20 lbs regularly.
- Demonstrates skill in operating equipment.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read a minimum of Jaeger 2 or equivalent type and size letter at a distance of not less than 12 inches on a standard Jaeger test chart.
- Ability to utilize basic computer skills, (word, excel, type, email, etc.)
SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and mass; and interpret bar graphs.
- Aptitude to calculate and use the following instruments – Scale in 1/8”, 1/16”, 1/32” and 1/64” increments – 12” to 72” long;
Protractor Head, Diameter Tape – 100’s increments, Micrometers, Diameter Tape – 1/64” increments, 6” Vernier Caliper, 50’ Tapes,…
