Location:
Sugarland Campus. This role is based out of the Sugarland Campus.
Job Summary:
Works under the direction of a faculty member. Provides expertise in the design, operation and analysis of experiments or research projects in areas such as chemistry, biology, psychology, sociology, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, optometry, all fields of engineering, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure experiments or research efforts are performed according to specifications.
- Make recommendations to changes in procedures, processes, or experimental design.
- Prepare and/or edit research papers, proposals and reports.
- Possess, understand, and apply comprehensive knowledge that crosses fields of specialization. Understand and use effective management techniques.
- Design, operate and analyze large experiments or research projects.
- Serve as liaison with other areas of specialization to obtain support or technical expertise for projects.
- Recommend major changes in procedures or processes for research investigations. May personally conduct important and/or technically complex investigations.
- Operate with considerable latitude for unreviewed action.
- Provide direction and supervision of graduate or undergraduate research assistants involved in experiments or research.
Qualifications:
- M.S. Degree with 1 year of research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MQ:
Ph.D. Degree with 1 year of experience. - Experience considered in lieu of education;
Education considered in lieu of experience. - Strong background in experimental design and data analysis.
- Familiarity with specialized equipment typical within area of specialization.
