Postdoctoral Fellow - Leukemia - Research

Join the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Leukemia. This Postdoctoral position reports to Hussein

A. Abbas, MD, PhD (primary mentor). A Postdoctoral Fellow will play a critical role in advancing our understanding of immune biology of leukemias such as AML, mastocytosis, and immune cell interactions, and in developing in vitro and in vivo models for these mechanisms. The scope is highly translational research.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

Learning Objectives
  • Conduct experimental research on leukemia.
  • Perform immune and inflammation-based studies in leukemia.
  • Develop and utilize in vitro and in vivo models for immune biology and leukemia research.
  • Execute molecular and cellular biology experiments.
  • Engage in functional genomics studies.
  • Demonstrate expertise in cell killing and co‑culture assays.
  • Expertise in flow cytometry analysis.
  • Collaborate with experimental and computational team members.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Cellular Biology) with a focus on immunology.
  • Demonstrated experience with immunology and mouse models.
  • Proficient in cellular molecular biology techniques.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Independently able to read and interpret scientific literature, design experiments, troubleshoot experiments, and present their work.
  • Up to 1 year from time of Ph.D. graduation.
