Position DurationThis position will last approximately 6 months and is located in the Greenway Plaza area working in the office. The position will start in January and go through June of 2026.
About the RoleWill be responsible for the daily operation of food service and beverages for onsite/offsite client and employee meetings. This is heavy volume feeding up to 2,000 people a week with 30 meetings a day. Will direct staff to ensure that customers are satisfied with their food service experience and managing the daily food service business operations and personnel to ensure it runs efficiently.
The food manager should be able to multitask as well as demonstrate excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and strong customer service skills.
- Walking, sitting, standing for extended periods of time
- Able to push up to a 50 lbs storage cart
- Able to hand wash dishes as needed
- Able to manage inventory; ability to submit billing information and invoices to accounting in a timely manner under budgetary guidelines
- Work schedules vary and may include early mornings and evenings
- Comply with all health and food safety standards/regulations
- Maintain kitchen and conference room cleanliness according to health department standards
- Sound knowledge of labor laws as well as food health and safety regulations
- Outstanding leadership & management skills
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of quantity food preparation and service preferred
- Knowledge of food service accounting & inventory control procedures preferred
- Knowledge of the operation & maintenance of food service equipment preferred
- Knowledge of food storage practices & procedures preferred
- Knowledge of food service sanitation and safety standards preferred
- Must have a valid Texas drivers license and current insurance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
- Oversee & enforce workplace safety standards
- Oversee schedules and assign duties for Food Service staff members
- Manage all food orders for onsite Board meetings, coordinating directly with the appropriate staff members
- Research & maintain positive relationships with vendors
- Manage & oversee the Firm food and beverage inventory
- Investigate & resolve any complaints regarding food quality or service
- Inspect & maintain kitchen supplies, equipment & work areas for cleanliness
- Ensure that food, beverages and appropriate supplies are set up in the correct conference room prior to every meeting
- Verify that food deliveries match emails from the appropriate staff and follow up with caterers on food order statuses & deliveries
- Monitor kitchens & conference rooms supplies are stocked & clean
- Verify daily calendar entries for the next day's meetings & re-confirm the food to accompany each meeting
- Schedule & receive food & beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality & quantity. Taking inventory of food supplies & other consumables, ordering necessary supplies as needed, & receiving deliveries that comply with assigned budgets
- Plan menus & food utilization based on anticipated number of guests & client requests
- Coordinate & implement adherence to sanitation regulations, using Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
