Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. They assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases, rotate self‑serve displays, take special orders with customers, collaborate with the Baker on items that need baking or decorating, and help maintain department cleanliness by hosing floors with soap and water.

• Provide friendly, courteous service to customers in the bakery department.
• Assist customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean, fill, and rotate self‑serve displays in front of the store and adjacent to the bakery.
• Work with customers to take special orders.
• Coordinate with the Baker on items that may need baking or decorating.
• Assist with department cleaning, including hosing down floors with soap and water.
• Meet physical requirements: lift up to 60 pounds, stand, walk, kneel, and perform visual and auditory tasks.

• Read and write Spanish/English and interact with the general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required.
• Must be 16–17 years old for this position (meeting Texas youth employment law).
