Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 base salary + 3% commission
Travel: 20–80% (frequent short, 1‑day trips)
APS is seeking a Sales Engineer to support enterprise customers in the energy and data center construction markets. This is a newly created, high‑impact role designed to scale our sales and customer success efforts as APS continues to grow.
The Sales Engineer serves as a trusted technical advisor
, partnering closely with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to guide customers through discovery, product demonstrations, and solution validation. This role bridges the gap between field experience and consultative sales, helping customers understand how APS’s software improves quality, commissioning, and execution of complex construction and electrical work.
This is an individual contributor role with no cold calling. All customer engagements are warm, AE‑led opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Sales & Customer Engagement
- Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery sessions and solution discussions.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for customers including hyperscalers, general contractors, developers, and electrical contractors.
- Translate real‑world construction, commissioning, and electrical testing workflows into clear business and technical value.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by drawing on firsthand industry experience.
- Product Demonstrations & Enablement
- Deliver tailored software demonstrations focused on customer workflows, outcomes, and ROI.
- Lead workshops and proof‑of‑concept engagements to validate solution fit.
- Support early‑stage deployments alongside the Houston‑based implementation team.
- Train customers on software usage and best practices.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Customer Success Managers to support adoption, expansion, and long‑term success.
- Capture customer requirements and ensure a smooth handoff to Implementation and Professional Services.
- Respond to RFPs/RFQs, security questionnaires, and technical inquiries (including architecture and integrations).
- Participate in internal product feedback sessions with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams.
