Postdoctoral Fellow -Radiation Oncology

Join to apply for the Postdoctoral Fellow role in Dr. Heiko Enderling's lab at the Komen Graduate Training Program UT MDACC. The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Fellow is to assist the Principal Investigator and other Faculty members with scientific research projects. A position is available immediately in mathematical and computational oncology, with emphasis on biological radiotherapy response dynamics using ordinary and partial differential equations.

The laboratory has identified novel mathematical modeling biomarkers to predict patient-specific responses to radiation. These models must be rigorously calibrated and validated against clinical data, and model selection must be performed before prospective clinical translation. Research will be conducted in both mathematical and computational models, with rigorous analysis of model performance against clinical benchmarks.

• Develop, implement, and solve mathematical and computational models of tumor growth and treatment response.
• Familiarity with Mat Lab and R is preferred. Ideal candidates would possess experience in multiple programming environments and statistical analyses.
• Training and supervising other research personnel on techniques and procedures
• Maintenance of laboratory safety procedures and records and facilities
• Collect, analyze, plot data using appropriate software applications, store and record data on computer and lab notebooks
• Assist in writing of scientific papers for publication, grant applications and presentations at scientific meetings
• Other duties as assigned

• Education:
  
  Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate
• Experience:
  
  At least 3 years of experience in mathematical modeling research
• Preferred:
  Experience and proven scholarship in peer-reviewed publications as a first author and presentations at major meetings

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 per year, depending on number of years of postgraduate experience.
